Chris Wu
I'm currently a senior at Trinity School of Durham and Chapel Hill, and have been part of the FIRST robotics program for four years now. This year, I have the privilege of serving as team captain, and in past years, I've spent time mainly as a programmer and designer (I built a 3D printer to print components for the "Ring it Up!" challenge a few years ago). In addition to participating in FIRST, I enjoy tinkering and building things in order to learn more about robotics and topics that interest me. If you're curious, I've documented my projects for a few years now my personal hobby blog. Outside of robotics, I enjoy playing Badminton, Violin, and dabbling with art and graphic design. I also built this website. |
Michael Arcidiacono
Hello, peoples of the Internet. I’m a junior in high school, and have been a part of FIRST teams for four years now (two on the FLL team “The Lego Bodybuilders” and two on 2827). I enjoy this immensely, and, though I consider myself mainly a programmer, I’ve found myself doing more all-around tasks in recent years. In addition to my position on 2827, this year Ryan and I have been mentoring the FLL team “System Update”; so far trying to lead a bunch of rambunctious 6th graders has been quite the experience. I also enjoy writing short stories, drawing, and miscellaneous programming, mainly in c++ but also in javascript, scheme, and other languages. I’ve always wanted build a Tesla coil and hope to do so sometime this year. |
Ryan Lynch
My name is Ryan Lynch, I am a junior at Trinity, and I have been on team 2827 for two years now, this being my third year. I am one of the builders on our team and in general work on just about everything on the robot. In my opinion, winning would be ideal, but over all, I think if every member of our team smiles at least once a meet, then our season will have been a success. |
Grant Shadduck
Oh hello you web surfers. My name is Grant Shadduck, I am a Junior at Trinity School of Durham and Chapel Hill. This is my third year involved in Trinity Robotics, two of those being on 2827 “Artificial Stupidity”. In addition to Robotics, I have been involved with stock car racing in excess of 5 years, those years spent building and racing cars have given me the opportunity to fabricate pretty much everything imaginable. With regards to robotics, I enjoy building, fabricating and even some wiring. Overall I really enjoy robotics and everything that comes with it. |
Jonathan Stepp
I am a freshman at Trinity, and this is my first year on a robotics team. Although I was not able to do any kind of robotics in middle school because of a conflict with band, I have been interested in being on a robotics team for a long time. I became very interested in computers in sixth grade, making simple animations for school projects, and decided that I wanted to learn to program. I taught myself Java from a book, and later learned C++. I have also worked with Python and Javascript, but do not know them very well. On the team, I mainly program, although I have worked with building the lift on occasion. In addition to robotics and programming, I enjoy running cross country and playing the trumpet. So far, robotics has been a great experience for me, and I am very lucky to have been put on team 2827. |
Emma Friesen
I am a sophomore at Trinity School, and this is my first time being on an FTC robotics team. In middle school, I took a semster of lego robotics. More recently I was in a robotics apprenticeship class. I enjoyed that and hope to learn more this year. Inspired by robotics class, I have begun to learn Python. Outside of robotics, I like to run and swim (when I am not I injured), read, and bake. |
Ryean Airall
Hey, I'm Ryean some people call me Rye (like the bread). I am a Sophomore at Trinity School of Durham and Chapel Hill. During my freshman year I took a robotics apprenticeship class and loved it. This year I'm on 2827 and am learning new things everyday! When I'm not doing robotics you can catch me riding a stubborn horse named Alyx, drawing, playing my classical guitar in hopes of having my own mariachi band on the side, and watching Dance Moms. |
